The songs are originally from the BBC English by Radio series 'Let's speak English' lessons 1-50. Singlish is a simple yet effective way to help teachers develop language skills in Students through the singing of classic and contemporary folk songs. Volumes 1 and 2 are   especially helpful for students with limited English proficiency.
