| Description | Feel like a migrant In the classic novel, To Kill a Mockingbird, Atticus Finch says to his daughter Scout: "If you can learn a simple trick, Scout, you'll get along a lot better with all kinds of folks. You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view--until you climb into his skin and walk around in it." - Harper Lee, (1960). To Kill a Mockingbird How well can we walk in someone else’s shoes, to see something from someone else’s perspective? Our project partnership aims to develop innovative methods for workshop participants to experience what it feels like to be a migrant , hence the title “feel like a migrant” and thereby enhance their empathy in their daily contact with migrants. The project is a migrant integration project targeted at teachers, trainers and other educational staff who in everyday working life have a personal contact with migrants. Our project is aimed at developing and implementing the concept of a multicultural teaching approach as a new strategy and method in teaching, through realisation of workshops for trainers, teachers and other educational staff. |
